Andrew Liebchen’s early status as a space cadet was confirmed by this quote from the Sun-Sentinal, his boyhood local paper:

It’s about three gentlemen who travel from Earth to the moon and back in an enormous bullet fired from a huge cannon. Then they pick up the gravitational pull of the moon, and sling-shot back to earth. I liked it because I like science fiction. They traveled into outer space. Someday I’d like to travel in space.
